I started being aware of death around the age of 6. I was a bit obsessed with it, mostly before going to bed. The idea of a God sounded already like a sweet lie to me, a funeral lullaby.
The death of somebody we love, the end of our consciousness, the idea that I will stop existing forever was scaring me a lot. Game over, and the screen goes black!
I lost my mother when I was 15, all the gods died with her. In my skulls this fear is gone, death now is just a natural event of life, they seem alive, it looks like they can see you through their empty orbits.
